Have you experienced hearing your kids say something new that you got totally surprised when they said it?
Take my almost 3-yr old Louie, for example.
I was working on my laptop and he was playing nearby.
He was pretending to be in a beach setting using my umbrella.
Then he decides it's eating time and I heard him pray by himself.
Yep, the complete prayer before meals.
I had to stop what I was doing and listen to him.
And when I looked over at him after he finished. He was giving me an embarrassed smile. Hehe...
Then here's another one.
Here's the scene: I was sitting on my desk working then he came over and asked to feed. (He's still breastfeeding, you see.)
Me: Later. Give me five minutes.
Louie: Ok.
But he did not leave.
Louie: One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. Mama done. Five minutes are over.
I was laughing...
And here's the third one I like to share today.
Louie usually asks to feed before lunch. One particular time he came over too early about 11AM.
Me: Not yet. Mama is still working. Later na.
Louie: Yes, mama. I like to feed now. (He was trying to find a way to get between the arms of my chair and the desk and under my stretched arms typing on the keyboard.)
Me: No Louie! You are not listening to mama.
Louie: No Mama! You are not listening to me! (giving me that mischievous face of his)
I was having a great laugh and gave him a big hug...
I have said it before but I have to say it again:
Kids say the darnest things, don't they?
How about your kids? What new lines have they learned lately?

How To Train Your Sons To Be Romantic
I have to admit, my hubby is not romantic.
In my perception of what a romantic guy that is.
He doesn't buy me flowers at random times.
He is not fond of writing love letters.
He told me it's kind of awkward for him to bring a bunch of flowers around.
Read between the lines: too cheesy.
After dropping hints many times, he gives me flowers on my birthday and our wedding anniversary. And write a short message on the attached card.
You know those small cards that says To and From. He uses the space in between to write about his love for me. That's it.
What he likes to do is treat me out to good food and have a great conversation.
As time goes by I have come to appreciate this. Not a week passes by without a date with him even if it is just over a shared chocolate flip float.
So what does this have to do with training my sons to be romantics?
I realized that if you want men to be romantic you train them early.
You teach them little things that can tap their romantic side.
Like during Valentine's Day this year, hubby did not buy flowers by myself.
He tag our two sons along the flower shop.
Yeah, I have to wait in the car while they do that.
But it was cute seeing them walking back to the car each holding a red rose. Hammie even tried to hide it behind his back.
And when they were right outside my side of the car, they smiled and said 'Surprise!' and gave the roses.
Today, whenever they see our wedding portrait with me holding my wedding bouquet, the conversation goes like this:
Louie: Mama, that's your flowers?
Me: Yes. You're gonna give mama flowers too?
Hammie: I'll tell papa to buy three flowers for you in the church (Flower shops or vendors are abundant during Sundays, you see)
Me: Thank you Kuya.
Another thing is make surprises for them or with them.
Hammie has realized that whenever I use the word 'surprise' something good is coming up. He tells Louie excitedly that a surprise is coming when they are good boys.
And he can actually keep a secret when we plan to surprise his papa. Louie is catching on.
Like if they do something good, I'll give them a surprise treat.
Or we'll make a surprise card together for their papa's birthday.
Or make a welcome banner when their papa arrives from a week long trip.
Just simple things really.
It's always the thought that counts.
And do not stop and get tired of doing it.
Be consistent.
How about you? Are you training your sons to be romantic too?

Top 3 Benefits Working At Home
Okay. You may have heard and read from other people why they are working at home.
You may think they are all the same.
But all stories are different, right?
So hear me out.
I mean with different circumstances and situations, I find working at home the right one for me.
Why?
Here goes:
One, I get to see my kids all day.
As a mom, whenever I go out, a part of my mind is left wondering how the kids are doing.
So you can just imagine if I do that everyday for at least ten hours for at least five days a week?
I'll be a worry wart all the time and maybe get crazy in the long run for worrying too much.
Two, I get to accompany my kids to school.
As I am working at home, I have control of my time.
That means, I can accompany my son to school and fetch him after classes are done for the day.
On his first school year, I was able to sit in his classroom for five months - it took that long for him to adjust - and that was fine with me and work too.
On his second year, which is this year, I was able to go out of the classroom on the second day.
On the third day I was able to get back to the house and not wait out until school is over. Then just come back to fetch him.
Three, I get to have lots of hugs and more time to play with them.
In any work, no matter how you like it, you still need breaks.
So when I leave my desk to stretch, I can play with my kids.
Or call them to give me hugs.
Or they can randomly go to me and ask for hugs too.
Amazing, don't you think?
So there. Those are the top benefits I can say as a working at home mom.
Though I could say there's more to this actually.
But that's for another post.
How about you, are you a WAHM too? What can you say your top benefits are?

Why I Stopped Doing The Photo A Day
I thought I would be doing the photo a day for the rest of the year.
Here's the latest list if you like:
Because taking pictures is a hobby of mine.
I was even chosen to be one of the fab four in the FMS Photo A Day Facebook Group.
But something came up.
They always do don't they?
Yep. Life happens.
And it's actually something good. Better even.
I finally have a fulltime online job that I didn't expect to get this early.
So maybe somebody up there was watching me and I am truly thankful.
The next posts will be more on my life working at home.
Nope. Not too much on the working at home aspects.
I got another blog for the serious stuff. Go here if you want to check that out.
I'll be sharing with you the lighter side of being a mom at home and working at home all at the same time.
And all things in between.
Like this one.
Yup I love to travel.
Can you guess where the above photo was taken?
I'll post about my travels as well.
How about this?
That's lasagna, my favorite pasta since a kid. Yes, even before Greenwich came. And there's mashed potato and garlic toasted bread.
I'm into cooking and baking too. And I'll share some favorite recipes.
That's it for now.
So stick around and have a great time reading my posts. :)

March 4 - Lucky
I had thought of looking for a four leaf clover for this day last month but was not lucky. Haha. So I look into what I have and I could say I am lucky to have a husband who loves me. Oh yeah, it is not perfect but at the end of the day I am grateful for having someone like him in my life. In case you are wondering, this is a make up session for me from March photo a day challenge.
April 4 - This Happened Today
I am having a busy day. I was racking my brain what out of the ordinary thing I am experiencing. There was nothing much really to highlight and so it was only this time that I could say that what happened today was the rain. Summer has just started and temperature is quite high at 32-34 Celsius. It was refreshing to hear the rain drops outside the house. Even if it was already 9PM, I went out and took a picture of the rain or the pavement that is wet with rain.

March 3 - Key
On this day in March, I was able to take a picture of some
car keys but decided to discard them. So
I have a better one - in my opinion at least – of a ‘key’ image. There is just something about kids stuff that
gives them the adorable factor, don’t you agree? Here is my take on key:
April 3 - Something Beginning With A
I have two pictures for today and still cannot decide which
one is better. I was stuck with ‘apple’
but there’s no apple to photograph and I actually had to ask Google on things
that start with A around the house.
That’s where I got stuck with two options: toy Airplanes and
Alphabet.

March 2 - I Made This
For this day’s prompt, I could think of a lot of food that I
can share that I cooked or baked. Then I
remembered that as a stage mom (yes, I am there every time my kids perform :)) who wants to spend little on costumes for school
activities for the kids, I made one for my son’s United Nations celebration.
Did I mention that I hand sewn this costume? Yup,
the bottom one was easy since it followed the pajama pattern. But the top part was a bit time
consuming. I am not so confident when it
comes to tops. My fingers were sore
after and the stress I put upon myself was high I did get sick after. So much for saving on a ready-made costume
and getting myself sick in the process.
Looking back though, I did have fun.
I know I’ll be making more costumes in the future and other sewing
projects but with a sewing machine already.
March 1 - L is for... leopard print
I’m making up for the last month’s photo a day challenge
since I was not able to post any.
Although the first days of March I did take pictures but they were left
inside the memory card. So here is my
way of catching up. Instead of one photo
a day, I’m doing two: one for March and one for April. When I thought about this prompt last month,
what came into mind is the leopard print.
