Today's prompt made me think that I have to be creative since I have no card or name plates to show. I am an online worker so everything I have is inside this laptop that I am looking right now. Browsing through my bag, I was thinking of taking a photo of my name in the passport but hesitated because of security reasons. Or maybe I am just paranoid. Anyway, I tried the names on the credit card but my camera was not cooperating even on macro mode. Then I saw a membership card to EQ diaper that has a clearer appearance of my name. Then setting it against my memo notes in different colors and (drum roll please) tada! I got my photo a day:
Most people do not call me as Rachel because sometimes the pronunciation has to be corrected. I was taught that it should be 'Ray-shel' and not 'Ray-chel' and I stuck with it even though I realized later on that the latter was the right way to say it. Well, whatever. So when people ask my name, I usually say Karen because it is much easier to remember and pronounce. Right?
Ow, if you ask why my name in Facebook is Ker, that's my nickname. People in the Philippines love to have nicknames so my mom gave me the name Kerker. She said it was derived from Karen and opted for Kerker instead of Karkar because it sounded better. Creatie don't you think? LOL! Filipinos also have a tendency to choose a repetitive syllable for nicknames to make it easier for parents and everyone else to call you. I just cut it to one syllable since I like it better that way.
