The Year That Was 2012

It is already the 3rd of January 2013 and so far I’m still in holiday mood.  To compensate I am making these posts to share about what a great year I had in 2012.  It was quite fulfilling to be able to travel to new places near and far.  Learning new dishes was also part of the agenda for the year.  Then there’s the family life that always brings a lot of surprises for a young mother like me.  Spending time with old friends and meeting new ones.  Life is really a blessing when you come to think about it.  And for myself, I have come to know more about what my passions are and hopefully will live them out as I struggle to reach my goals.  Cheers!

So for the travels, this year I am very grateful for the opportunity to go to Puerto Prinsesa, Palawan, Tagaytay, Corregidor, Cebu, Dahilayan and Kampo Juan.

Then there’s the food that I was able to cook in the kitchen such as binignit, sweet & sour fish fillet, carbonara, home made pizza, chicken au gratin, ensaladang talong, pork cutlets with vegetables & quail eggs, pork lauya with corn and many more.

As a mother with small kids, there is always something to celebrate especially during kids’ baptism and birthdays.  Of course, going out with friends is part of the celebrations from simple gatherings to elaborate weddings, I was able to experience them all in 2012.

Family is an important part of 2012 and I am thankful to be part of a close-knit family.  Birthdays were celebrated and times were spent to enhance the relationships.  Of course there’s the once a year reunion to be with our dear Lola Mina.  Yes, she is my sons’ great grandmother, amazing isn’t it?

Since there is so much to share, I think I would like to divide them into months to give you a glimpse of what makes my life not so ordinary after all.
